Great Indian Festival: Amazon begins sale, buyers can avail 80% discounts

As top e-commerce players lay the groundwork for what would be the year's first online sale starting tomorrow, Amazon India has already opened its Great Indian Festival for its Prime members.

Started at noon today - 12 hours before the official launch of the sale - Amazon's Prime members are getting exclusive deals, discounts and cashbacks on a range of products across brands and categories.

Mobile phones & electronics

Amazon India's Great Indian Festival is offering up to 40% off on mobile phones from brands including OnePlus, Xiaomi, Samsung, Motorola and more. Some of the top offers include Rs 6,000 off on Moto G5 Plus, 32% off on LG V30+ and Redmi Y1 at under Rs 11,000.

Top offers on electronics include up to Rs 20,000 off on laptops, up to 40% off on TVs and wearables and up to 60% off on headphones and speakers. Some of the interesting deals include Samsung TVs under Rs 12,000, HRX edition Mi Band at just Rs 1,299 and Micromax Canvas laptop for under Rs 10,000.

Fashion
Flipkart may arguably be more fashion-forward with smaller platforms like Myntra and Jabong under its belt, but Amazon India has been playing catch-up. With discounts of up to a massive 80% on apparels and accessories for both men and women, online shoppers may be spoilt for choice.

Some of the top offers include up to 70% off on merchandise from UCB, Puma and Titan, and nearly 60% off on Amazon Basics' products and items from brands including Marks & Spencer, Red Tape and Fastrack, among others.

Home & kitchen appliances
Shoppers may be tempted to give their homes a makeover with nearly 70% off on a wide spectrum of products - from furniture and home products to garden and outdoor paraphernalia.

Top deals include bean bags under Rs 1,500, queen-sized beds for less than Rs 9,000 and over 60% off on genuine wooden entertainment units. Other special offers include a Fire TV Stick for just Rs 3,000.

Customers using HDFC cards for online payments will get 10% additional cashback. Users of Amazon Pay will also get a cashback of 10% for up to Rs 200. The sale would be open to all customers at midnight.
