Flipkart's last big sale of 2016 is here
With the Big Shopping Days sale, etailer will focus on consumer loans and exclusive device and appliance launches

However, in terms of scale and topline, the current sale is a fraction of Big Billion Days (BBD) Sale.
"It is an important event for us though the scale is not as large as the BBD sale in October. We have signed on multiple exclusive brands since the BBD sale concluded including Lenovo K6 Power, Moto M, Lenovo Phablet in mobiles, Converse clothes and Louise Phillips in apparel, BPL TV , and washing machine, among others. These will be showcased in the sale," said Smrithi Ravichandran, director of category design and operations.
Fashion and electronics, including watches and small appliances, are likely to contribute to the sale volumes. While the discounts will range from 10-20% on electronics, fashion category will see an average discount between 40% and 70%. The recently launched Flipkart private label 'Smartbuy' will not be a part of discounted products, added Ravichandran.
The government's decision to make high value currency notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 has had a severe impact on the business of ecommerce players by as much as 50% dip in volumes during the first two weeks. However, the impact of the move will not affect the sale event, added Ravichandran.
During the BBD sale of October, Flipkart claimed to have sold 15.5-million units while Amazon India closed at 15 million units including Prime memberships for its Great Indian Festival sale during the same period.
