Ola hails new CFO, HR chief

BENGALURU: Homegrown cab-hailing app Ola has hired Harish Abhichandani as its chief financial officer and Ganesh Subramanian as vice-president of human resources, two company insiders said.

An Ola spokesperson confirmed the appointments.

Abhichandani, who was CFO at eKart, the logistics arm of Flipkart, has replaced former CFO Rajiv Bansal, who quit Ola in February.

Subramanian was the HR director for enterprise and technology solutions at Unilever for close to three years before joining Ola.

"Ganesh (Subramanian) joined the company in July and Harish (Abhichandani) in August... they are seen at meetings," an Ola employee told ET on condition of anonymity. "Specifically recruiting for the CFO position has taken unusually long, since quite a few interviews with promising candidates from Amazon to Microsoft, Google and startups like Practo, Flipkart have taken place," the person said.

Ola has seen a string of exits amid new senior level recruitments in 2017.

In February, the company appointed Pranav Tiwari, a former Google executive, as the vice-president of engineering and Sanjay Kharb, former InMobi executive, as the vicepresident of engineering infrastructure.

Besides Bansal, offline initiatives operating officer Anuj Bhargava and chief marketing officer Raghuvesh Sarup also had quit in February . More recently , engineering head Sriram V Iyer quit in May and Deep Singh, senior director of operations, resigned in July.
