Discovering real purpose

Most of us rarely consider our true purpose in life. Is there a supreme reason for our existence? Can we have a fulfilling destiny regardless of our current situation? Can we be certain of future happiness, joy and peace? Or are we living a transient, purposeless existence?

We can visualise the future and have hopes, dreams and creative imagination far beyond any other life form. Do these gifts and dreams perish when we die? The truth is revealed in the Creator's instruction manual for humanity, the holy Bible. In the Bible, God decrees the fate of nations and prophesies world-shaking future events that are unfolding before our eyes. Human beings did not just happen by chance. The revealed word of God shows that man was purposefully created. God describes how He designed each creature 'according to its kind', Genesis 1:21, 24-25.

From the beginning, man was placed on earth with the capacity and responsibility to help direct his fellow man under God, Exodus 18:13-26. People in positions of responsibility often feel they are the only ones who can manage necessary tasks. However, others can manage part of the workload. Proper delegation can increase effectiveness and provide growth opportunities to others. Many misguided people believe in an eternity of doing nothing. They do not realise true believers are called for a wonderful, exciting purpose full of growth and learning.
