Indian students headed to Poland can now apply online for their student visas

Indian students must now register online for student visas to study in Poland. Polish universities offer competitive tuition fees, making it an attractive option for international students. Rejection rates for visa applications also highlighted.

Indian students headed to Poland now need to register online for their student visas. As of July 2, Indian students aspiring to study in Poland must register their national study visa applictations through the newly introduced e-consult system. The Embassy of Poland in India announced that for applicants registering through the Embassy in New Delhi, appointment times for the application process will be allocated based on the order of registration.

The Embassy of Poland in New Delhi handles visa applications from Indian citizens or residents from the following regions: Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Delhi (NCR), Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu-Kashmir, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Odisha, Punjab, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Tripura, Uttaranchal, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, as well as from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal, and Sri Lanka.

Polish universities offer competitive tuition fees, which are significantly lower compared to other EU countries, typically 30% to 50% less. Compared to the United States and the United Kingdom, studying in Poland can be up to 70% cheaper, making it an attractive option for international students.


In 2023, Indian students constituted 30% of the international student population in Poland, with over 3,000 Indian students enrolled out of more than 10,000 international students. The appeal of studying in Poland for Indian students lies in its high-quality education system, cultural diversity, and affordable living costs.

Despite the popularity of Poland as a study destination for Indian students, according to reports, about 18% of visa applications from Indian students were rejected by Polish authorities. Poland issues two main types of visas for students:
  • C-Type Visa (Short-term): Valid for up to 90 days, suitable for short courses or exchange programs.
  • D-Type Visa (Long-term): A renewable visa valid for over 90 days, typically up to one year, and the most common visa for students enrolled in degree programs.
