Here's what you can do to change your UAE resident visa details

What if you have recently changed your occupation and would like that change to be reflected on your resident visa? You need not to worry, since there’s a very simple procedure you’ll need to follow inorder to request for the adjustments online.

The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) in Dubai offers the "Data Amendment for Residency Visa" service both through Amer centres and through its website, gdrfa.gov.ae.

Follow the below given steps to apply for the service online.


1. Log in to gdrfa.gov.ae with your UAE Pass account.

2. Right under ‘Residency services’ select ‘Data Amendment for Residency Visa’ option.

3. By tapping "start service," you can enter your personal information and add documents to support a request for information change.

(If you are requesting a change in the profession stated, you must submit documentation from the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization or another appropriate institution.)

4. Make the payment; the service will cost you Dh260 in total.

5. Submit the application.

The price of the service includes the courier fees, which guarantee that your passport will be returned to you after the amendments to your visa have been made.

You can also apply for the service through an Amer centre.

As per Sirajudeen Ummer, a business development manager at Supreme business services, service is very useful for people whose passport numbers, names, or professions might change.

“Usually this service is helpful to apply online when you have moved into a ‘skilled level’ of profession, from an unskilled level. People also prefer to complete this service through Amer centres when they have a passport number that has changed, or if they have a name change,” he told Gulf News.
