Etihad Airways' Delhi-Abu Dhabi flight faces delay due to dense fog

Etihad Airways flight EY219 from Indira Gandhi International Airport to Zayed International Airport, Abu Dhabi was delayed on December 15 due to dense fog affecting northern India. The airline confirmed the delay, citing adverse weather, and said, “We apologise for the delay, and our teams are doing their best to help you on your journey.”

The airline advised passengers on EY219 to check and update their contact details through its website to receive the latest flight information via SMS or email. The airline also urged travellers to use its customer support channels for any queries or changes. “The safety and comfort of our guests and crew is our number one priority. We apologise for the inconvenience to your travel plans,” the statement added.

Airport officials said visibility dropped below operational limits early Monday, slowing departures and arrivals. Air traffic controllers prioritised landings while outbound flights were held until conditions improved.


The disruption is part of seasonal visibility issues affecting several north Indian airports, with airlines warning of possible delays across Delhi.
