Dubai warns travellers about flight disruptions as weather conditions worsen

Dubai International Airport (DXB) has warned passengers of flight delays and cancellations due to adverse weather conditions on Friday. The airport also reported water accumulation on some roads and asked travellers to allow extra time to reach the airport or use public transport.

In a post shared on X, DXB said the weather situation could disrupt airport access and flight schedules. Passengers have been advised to plan ahead and check their travel details before leaving for the airport.

“Due to adverse weather, some flights are delayed or cancelled and there is water accumulation on some roads. Please allow extra time to reach #DXB or use the @rta_dubai Metro.

Unstable weather conditions

The disruption comes amid unstable weather across the United Arab Emirates, with forecasts of heavy rain and thunderstorms that are affecting travel conditions and airport access. Meteorological reports point to scattered rain, lightning and gusty winds in several emirates that may continue over the next few days.

IndiGo, also cautioned travellers on Thursday about potential flight disturbances on its UAE routes because of the same weather system. In its advisory shared on social media, the carrier said it is striving to keep schedules but warned that “adjustments, including possible cancellations, may be required if conditions evolve.” The airline asked passengers to “please keep a tab on your flight status” and said updates would be sent in real time.
