'Your family's degrees won't match his': Anurag Thakur's reply to Priyanka's ‘Kamakoti’ remark

A fresh BJP-Congress clash erupted in the Lok Sabha during the debate on the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Amendment Bill, 2026, after Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra took a swipe at a member of the Centre's examination reform task force. Referring to a member of the panel as a ‘Gaumutra Expert’. Her remarks were interpreted as a reference to IIT Madras Director Prof. V. Kamakoti, who has spoken publicly about the alleged medicinal properties of cow urine. BJP MP Anurag Thakur strongly objected to the remarks, accusing Priyanka Gandhi of insulting a distinguished academic and defending Kamakoti's credentials.
