Soccer club East Bengal ropes in Bangalore-based Quess Corp as its new investor

Kolkata’s iconic soccer club East Bengal has entered into an agreement with Bangalore-based Quess Corp Ltd as its new investor after the agreement with UB Group finished last month.

Accordingly, Quess and East Bengal has formed a new entity named Quess East Bengal FC Pvt Ltd. In a media release, Quess said this investment in a 98-year old iconic football club will help it to develop its brand and also contribute to the development of football in the country.

Quess East Bengal managing director Kalyan Majumdar said the club was contemplating options after the association with UB Group came to an end last month and approached Quess with a partnership proposal. “We are happy and excited with this partnership with the Quess brand and together we are hopeful of building India’s best football Club,” he said.


Quess is one of the country’s leading integrated business services provider and also one of the largest private sector employer with more than 2.6 lakh people on its rolls.

Ajit Isaac, CMD of Quess, said as the company develop from being a services provider to building multiple platforms with a large number of employees and customers, it was necessary to invest in long-term branding initiatives that cuts across multiple segments of the society. “The partnership with East Bengal provide exactly this,” he said.
