The double Olympic medallist beat Michelle Li of Canada to win the Gold.
A former world champion, Sindhu, who has a silver and a bronze from the 2018 and 2014 editions, was clearly the better player on display as she kept a firm grip on the match.
Sindhu had defeated Singapore's Yeo Jia Min 21-19 21-17 in a 49-minute contest to reach her second successive final of the Commonwealth Games.
With her left achilles strapped, Sindhu's range of motion appeared to be rather limited. The Singaporean made an early 8-4 score with several well-executed shots, but she was callous enough to let the Indian even the score.
The Indian relied on her technical prowess to keep advancing by delivering the perfect strokes at the appropriate moments.
The Indian increased his lead to 19-12 with a flawless net shot since Yeo Jia Min was too unstable to exert any pressure on him.
The Indian was troubled by the Singaporean's cross-court slices, and she moved diagonally to close the gap to 16–19. However, she forehanded back to the net, giving Sindhu three game chances, which she converted on the third try.
After that, the two engaged in some furious rallies that turned the match into a see-saw fight, but Sindhu made sure she was in the lead at the break by launching a straight down-the-line smash.
