IND vs SA 5th T20I Playing XI: India will take a late call on their playing XI ahead of the fifth and final T20I against South Africa, with vice-captain Shubman Gill’s availability under a cloud due to a toe injury. Gill travelled with the squad to the venue on Thursday, but his participation remains uncertain after he picked up the injury during a net session earlier this week.

The injury adds to India’s selection concerns for the series decider, especially with Gill also going through a lean patch with the bat. The team management is weighing its options, with Sanju Samson emerging as a strong contender if Gill is ruled out.

India currently lead the five-match series 2-1, with one game washed out, and will be keen to close the year with a series win. The final T20I will be India’s last international outing of the year before attention shifts to the home season starting in January.


For South Africa, the focus will be on levelling the series. The hosts are expected to back their core group while fine-tuning combinations ahead of upcoming assignments.
