Congress leader B.K. Hariprasad called Umar Khalid a “nationalist” while criticising ABVP’s opposition to a proposed documentary screening at NLSIU, prompting a response from ABVP National Secretary Shravan B Raj, who said the group would oppose the “glorification” of what he called “anti-national elements.” Karnataka Minister Priyank Kharge questioned who had declared Khalid “anti-national,” while Congress MP Imran Masood raised concerns over his prolonged detention and said the Supreme Court should take cognisance if questions arise over the judicial process.
