BHOPAL: Madhya Pradesh government sources today said that Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan had not promised to give fifty percent tickets to women in the coming Assembly elections.

Chouhan, speaking at Hoshangabad on Wednesday evening, had talked about giving 50 per cent tickets to women in elections to local bodies, where such a quota is already available because of BJP government's efforts, official sources said.

Meanwhile, Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Ajay Singh ( Congress) said if Chouhan was speaking about local bodies, he was not promising anything new, as the reservation for women already existed there.
