New Delhi: Prime minister Narendra Modi urged BJP youth workers from Bihar to tell voters, especially the youth and women, about people's sufferings during RJD's "jungle raj" and how the NDA's welfare schemes and good governance have transformed their lives.

During an hour-long virtual interaction with young grassroots-level party workers, the prime minister reiterated the NDA slogan "raftaar pakad chuka hai Bihar, abki baar phir NDA sarkar (Bihar has picked up pace, NDA government once again)" and asked the cadre to tell people to vote "not for jungle raj but for Jan Vishwas (people's trust)" in this election.

Among the suggestions given by the prime minister was to make the "Run for Unity", to be held on October 31 to mark Sardar Patel's 150th birth anniversary, a big success. He directed them to ensure the youth participate in good numbers and said the participants should be encouraged to carry posters of Sardar Patel.

"I am sure the people in Bihar discuss the jungle raj that used to prevail earlier. They will never forgive them (RJD). People of Bihar are a determined lot like Chanakya -- once they open their hair, they will not tie it back till they achieve their goal," Modi said.

Youth workers, who got an opportunity to speak, told the prime minister that jungle raj -- where women and children could not venture out of their homes after 4 pm due to lawlessness -- has been replaced by good roads, connectivity, transport, safety and availability of electricity.

One party worker mentioned that old women thank the NDA for helping build toilets at home which has ensured safety, ended the pain of going out, and promoted cleanliness.

Modi insisted that workers should tell people how the RJD top leadership is out on bail and the trial of their cases will begin soon. He attacked the Congress, saying it is just an onlooker when its allies are engaged in corruption. He described the Mahagatbandhan as "Lathbandhan (an alliance of those who believe in might is right)".
