RBI Governor Raghuram Rajan visits Pulwama, assures support to flood-hit people
RBI Governor Raghuram Rajan paid a visit to this south Kashmir town and assured people affected by last year's massive floods all help in reviving their livelihood.

Ranjan is on two-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir focusing on rehabilitation of last year’s flood affected population. Rajan visited the industrial area in Pulwama district of south Kashmir, where he interacted with businessmen, entrepreneurs, agriculturists and members of different self help groups.
The RBI gover fected areas in south Kashmir. “Such type of calamities damage economic pursuits of the affected people. This warrants cooperation and active involvement of government and financial institutions to restore normal commercial and economic activity,” the official handout quoted Ranjan as saying.
“We would take up the matter with Union government and financial institutions and see what can be done in this matter.” Jammu and Kashmir Finance Minister, Dr Haseeb A Drabu, Deputy Commissioner Pulwama, Neeraj Kumar, were also present during the visit.
