NEW DELHI: The Reserve Bank of India has received three complaints regarding trading or black marketing of coins in the last 12 months, Parliament was informed on Friday.

"The RBI has received three complains regarding trading/ black marketing of coins during the twelve months, one each at Rajkot, Mumbai and New Delhi," Minister of State for Finance Namo Narain Meena said in a written reply to the Lok Sabha.

He was replying to a query whether the ministry has received any report regarding black marketing of coins by private groups or individuals.

On actions taken to stop black marketing of coins, the Minister said that RBI has taken up the complaints with police authorities at appropriate level.

In a reply to a separate query, Meena said that foreign companies functioning in India paid Rs 24,247 crore as tax in the last financial year.
