RBI giving new currencies to BJP run states: Mamata Banerjee
KOLKATA: West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee yet again raised the issue of RBI’s ‘discrimination’ in disbursing new currency notes to West Bengal.

“It's shocking that Central Government is ruthlessly discriminating against Bengal,” Banerjee tweeted. Adding that the teagarden workers are toiling and starving, Banerjee said that the RBI is favouring the BJP ruled states and not supplying enough cash to Bengal. The tea garden workers in Bengal are deprived off cash wages, though they are giving cash to BJP ruled state Assam for the tea garden workers, she added.

“While both states started a similar payment model, suddenly Bengal's payments were cut off at end of November. Our workers are starving,” she said demanding an immediate restoration of payments. “I demand that RBI restores payments by our Government through our DMs immediately and continues till 03-17.Our hungry tea garden workers are dying due to note bandi,” she added.
