PCOD & Thyroid in women in growing like an urban epidemic: Rujuta Diwekar
In her new book, celebrity fitness expert Rujuta Diwekar shows women how to tackle hormonal imbalances head-on.

" Thyroid and Polycystic Ovarian Disorder ( PCOD) are growing like an urban epidemic. I get many emails and social media messages from woman across the world, struggling to overcome it," Diwekar, who has won the Nutrition award from the Asian Institute of Gastroenterology, said.
PCOD is a condition that affects hormone levels, periods and ovulation, while Thyroid also causes hormonal imbalances.The book, which is a compilation of her earlier work, 'Women & The Weight Loss Tamasha', enlists essential nutrition, exercise, sleep and even relationship strategies for a better lifestyle.
Taking spiritual sciences and human physiology into consideration, Diwekar points out the importance of weight training,eating right and learning to say 'no' to undue responsibilities at the right time. "The most empowering thing a woman can do is feel good about herself. The key is to place power in our own hands and take charge of our lives," she said.
