Nagaland govt asks employees of civil secretariat to attend state level function for Republic Day

Guwahati: Nagaland government has asked the employees of civil secretariat to compulsorily attend State level function for celebration of 72nd Republic Day on January 26.

In a statement from the state government, “The State level function for celebration of 72nd Republic Day 2021 shall be held at Nagaland Civil Secretariat Plaza on 26th January 2021. The National Day Celebration shall be attended compulsorily by all the Officers and Staff of the Nagaland Civil Secretariat”.

The Staff may use the Secretariat buses, which will start from their respective pick up points at 8:00 AM on 26th January 2021 for coming to attend the function. The Officials of the Secretariat have been directed to also attend the evening programme of the day at the Secretariat Plaza.


All Administrative Head of Departments have been requested to make arrangements for taking the attendance of their respective staff present in the function and submit the attendance sheet to this office for necessary action. Supervisor will take attendance of the Grade IV staff of the Nagaland Civil Secretariat.

The Officers and Staff attending the function are expected at all times to adhere to COVID-19 appropriate behaviours in the form of wearing masks, maintaining social distancing etc.

Meanwhile the militant outfit United Liberation Front of Asom (Independent) has called for a boycott of Republic Day celebration.
