MP forms migrant labour commission to provide employment

The tenure of the commission will be of two years and it will be headed by a chairman nominated by the state government.
The Commission will recommend the state government on measures for the welfare of migrant labourers, creation of employment opportunities and skill development of migrant labourers and their families as well as effective implementation of existing laws for protection of their interest, the state government said in a statement.
"Along with this, the commission will also recommend the governemnt on ways providing of providing benefits of existing social security and welfare schemes to the migrant labourers and their families," it added.
The Commission will have two members nominated by the state government. Under this, all labourers with domicile of Madhya Pradesh but working in other states as labourers and who have returned to Madhya Pradesh on March 01, 2020 or later will be covered and would be eligible for benefits.
