Media killed my habit of speaking frankly: Manohar Parrikar
PANAJI: Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar today said the media was responsible for "killing" his habit of making "frank" statements after they misinterpreted them.

"If anyone asks me what negative thing I faced after being the chief minister, I would say my habit of being frank even to the stranger has been taken away," Parrikar said addressing a gathering here.

"Media killed my habit of speaking frankly after I became the chief minister," said the senior BJP leader, who became chief minister of Goa after Assembly elections in 2012.

Parrikar said his frankness and statements were misinterpreted by media raking up controversies.

"I don't blame media. They want breaking news and many a times they have to break the news to have breaking news," he said.
