Kharge is learnt to have extended his solidarity with Kejriwal and stressed on the need for Opposition unity against the BJP.
Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge telephoned Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday night, a day before the AAP chief is to appear before the CBI in connection with the probe into the alleged Delhi liquor policy scam. Kharge is learnt to have extended his solidarity with Kejriwal and stressed on the need for Opposition unity against the BJP.

The Congress and the AAP share a tense relation and yet both coordinated on the floor of Parliament in the last session in demanding JPC probe into the Adani issue. Kharge's show of solidarity with Krjriwal vis a vis CBI probe is also being seen in the context of Kejriwal recently sympathising with Rahul Gandhi when he was disqualified from the Lok Sabha. Incidentally, Sharad Pawar the other day had urged Kharge and Gandhi to reach out to Opposition leaders such as Kejriwal and Mamata Banerjee as part of efforts for forging an anti-BJP unity.
