The Governor also accepted resignation of Chief Minister P K Dhumal, however, requested him to continue in the office till the new government is formed.

SHIMLA: Himachal Pradesh Governor Urmila Singh dissolved the state Assembly today paving way for the constitution of a new house, a day after the state cabinet gave its recommendation.

The Governor also accepted resignation of Chief Minister P K Dhumal, however, requested him to continue in the office till the new government is formed.

The Dhumal-led BJP government got a drubbing into the recent Assembly polls, whose results were announced two days ago. The party managed to get only 26 seats in 68-member house.

Congress, which got 36 seats, is all set to form the new government in the hill state.
