Fourth phase polling: Grand Alliance M-Y equation remains intact
The fourth phase of polling, which covered 55 assembly seats spread in Bihar’s 7 district, recorded 57.59% polling and it’s about 3% higher against 2010 assembly polls.

Like the past three phases, female voters outnumbered male voters at the booths in this phase too. While male voters’ participation was recorded at 54.20%, the phase saw 60.40% of polling by female voters.
The total number of voters in this phase was 1,47,39,120 with 78,65,387 male and 68,57,218 female voters. Seven districts, where polls were held, are East Champaran, West Champaran, Sheohar, Sitamarhi, Muzaffarpur, Gopalganj and Siwan.
According to the press release issued by the office of Chief Electoral Officer, West Champaran and East Champaran district recorded more than 59% polling. These two districts have 21 assembly seats. Muzaffarpur district, which has 11 assembly seats in its jurisdiction, has recorded 56.83%.
Reports reaching here from different districts suggested voting trend varied from one district to another. However, Grand Alliance M-Y equation almost remained intact in this phase. In East Champaran, Lonia voters looked inclined towards NDA while there is report about division in Kushwaha votes.
