Former Bihar minister's body reaches Patna for burial

A renowned social and political leader, Shakeel Ahmed Khan died of cardiac arrest at a hospital in Gurgaon yesterday.

PATNA: The body of senior JD(U) leader and former Bihar Minister Shakeel Ahmed Khan was flown to Patna from New Delhi this morning for burial at Makhdumpur in Gaya district.

Khan died of cardiac arrest at a hospital in Gurgaon yesterday.

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar went to the airport to receive the body of his party colleague.

Kumar and other leaders of the state paid homage to Khan at the state hangar when the body reached.

Khan was a renowned social and political leader and a legal luminary and his death has caused irreparable loss to the people of Bihar, Youth Congress chief Lalan Kumar said.
