Congress leaders attack BJP govt for 'misrule'

BANGALORE: Slamming the BJP for 'misrule' of the state in the last four years, opposition Congress on Saturday asked its workers to gear up for the assembly elections and defeat the ruling party.

In last four years of BJP's "misrule", people have witnessed three chief ministers at the helm of affairs which had only affected developmental works in the state, Opposition Leader in the Assembly Siddaramaiah said.

Taking part in a protest organised by Youth Congress against BJP's 'misrule', he urged urged Congress workers to get ready for next Assembly election and defeat the BJP as the people have lost faith in its rule.

Congress was the only party which can give pro-people's government, he claimed.

He dubbed Jagadish Shettar as the weakest Chief Minister in state's political history, saying he lacked control over his ministers.

"Shettar is weakest Chief Minister in Karnataka history and lacks control over his ministers and cabinet colleagues. Hardly any minister and party legislators listen to him," Siddaramaiah told reporters during the protest.

Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee President G Parameshwar said the youth in the state had been "greatly disappointed" with BJP's rule.

Congress leaders, including Siddaramaiah and Parameshwar, who were staging a protest in front of Shettar's house, courted arrest and later released.
