New Delhi: After holding several rounds of meetings with BJP leaders, Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) leader Chirag Paswan said on Tuesday that his party has joined NDA. Paswan said BJP gave a positive response to his concerns regarding seat-sharing in the Lok Sabha and assembly elections.

Chirag Paswan launched an attack once again on Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar and said that he cannot be in alliance with the JDU.

In 2021, Paswan's uncle Pashupati Kumar Paras had split the LJP, along with other four MPs, and became a Union minister in the Modi government. The two factions of the LJP have been at war of words ever since then. Paras' faction is called the Rashtriya Lok Janshakti Party (RLJP). The bone of contention between the two parties is the Hajipur LS seat which was the seat of LJP founder Ram Vilas Paswan. In 2019, his brother Paras contested from the seat.

"Why is Chirag talking about Hajipur? I am the sitting MP and only I will contest from there. Why does he want to betray the people of Jamui who made him a two-time MP. He should take care of them," Pashupati Kumar Paras told ET.
