New Delhi: BJP president JP Nadda made some key appointments to the post of party general secretary, organisation in a few states on Thursday - Rajesh GV for Karnataka, Ajay Jamwal for MP and Chhattisgarh, Manthri Srinivasulu for Punjab, and Satish Dhond as joint general secretary for West Bengal.

Besides, BJP's national joint general secretary, organisation, Shiv Prakash has been asked to shift base to Mumbai from Bhopal, as Maharashtra is crucial for the party in the run-up to the 2024 general elections. Prakash is in-charge of six states - MP, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Andhra and Telangana.

Rajesh GV replaces Arun Kumar in Karnataka, his first posting as he has come from RSS. Kumar has now been called back to the parent organisation. GV belongs to the Kullal community among the other backward classes and his appointment is important considering the state is headed for election next year.


Dhond moves from Goa to West Bengal. A hard task master, he is credited with scripting the BJP's success over the years in Goa, stitching a social coalition which made the BJP victorious.
