Assembly seats to be reserved for natives in minority dominated areas- Assam finance minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma
BJP and UPPL are ruling the sixth schedule council of Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC).

BJP has also decided to fight assembly polls of this year in alliance with United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) axing out Bodoland People’s Front (BPF).
Sarma said, “Through delimitation commission in Nagaon district most of the assembly seats will be reserved for natives, this is my belief. We have passed some laws and implementation has started 2021. Through expansion of education and health this problem will be solved.”
In March 6, 2020 last the Central Government had constituted the Commission for the delimitation of Assembly and Parliamentary constituencies in Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Nagaland, and Jammu & Kashmir. The delimitation exercise has been kept on hold in Assam since 2008.
Stating that BJP will win 100 seats in the assembly polls of 2021, Sarma said, “Together with UUPL we will contest assembly polls in Bodoland. In February we will announce seat sharing with UUPL.”
