Arvind Kejriwal, AAP leader and the Chief Minister of Delhi, demanded on Thursday that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) withdraw the summons served to him.

The ED had summoned him for questioning in a money laundering case related to the Delhi excise policy matter.

ED's notice is "illegal and politically motivated", Kejriwal said.

News agency PTI reported that the ED will record Kejriwal's statement once he deposes at the agency's Delhi office at 11 am on November 2.

Delhi's ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has so far said nothing about whether or not will the chief minister will appear before the probe agency.

Responding to the notice, the Delhi Chief Minister's Office said it was aimed at preventing Kejriwal from campaigning in the election-bound states.
