Bhupender Yadav
All the NDA allies in Bihar are on the same page over sharing of seats for the assembly polls, says Bhupender Yadav, BJP’s general secretary in charge of the state. Yadav, who came to Delhi after meeting Bihar chief minister and Janata Dal (U) leader Nitish Kumar, spoke to Kumar Anshuman on the NDA in Bihar and BJP’s campaign plans. Excerpts:

On his meeting with Nitish Kumar and seat sharing in Bihar
My meetings with Nitish Kumar and other alliance partners are only part of a continued process of working for a coalition government. We are on the same page on all issues of governance. Bihar was hit by the double whammy of the pandemic and thousands of migrant workers getting stranded in other parts of the country. The Bihar government did well to address the issue. Since we have a smooth working relation with our allies, all are working towards the common goal of people’s welfare, a seat-sharing agreement will be announced soon.

On ongoing tussle between the JDU and the Lok Janshakti Party
Such issues are only media speculation. The constituents of the Bihar government are on the same page and are going strong.

On LJP being approached by the Congress
I can’t comment on the media grapevine. I recently met LJP chief Ram Vilas Paswan. He is happy continuously working for the alliance , the people of Bihar. Our alliance is solid.

On PM Modi’s campaign plans for Bihar
PM Modi’s popularity remains unparalleled. It is driven by the fact that he delivers on the promises he makes to the people. He is committed to working for the welfare of the people of Bihar and he will be amid them to take that message. His work is his message.

On BJP’s campaign plan in Bihar
Apart from virtual rallies, the party plans ‘Ghar-Ghar Sampark’ campaigns while strictly following social-distancing norms. But as PM Modi himself said, the BJP is a political organisation, not a poll-winning machine. Since the pandemic’s severity hit India, BJP workers have been at the forefront of providing relief to people, doing the work which traditionally was relegated to the realm of NGOs. BJP foot soldiers have been distributing food, masks and sanitisers. We are here to serve people.
