According to Saurabh Sethi, eating eggs can benefit your brains
Eggs are considered a superfood rich in protein and other necessary nutrients. If you eat one egg daily, then it can give your body 75–76 calories, 6-7 grams of protein, 5 grams of fat, and 1.6 grams of saturated fat. Eggs also contain a plethora of nutrients that helps in building muscles, boosting immunity, improving your skin and hair and also help in the regeneration of cells and tissues.

Dr Saurabh Sethi, a gastroenterologist with 25 years of experience and training from AIIMS, Harvard, and Stanford, in one of his Instagram videos, explained what happens to the human body when it consumes eggs for two weeks.

Benefits of eating eggs

Your brain can benefit: According to Saurabh Sethi, eating eggs can benefit your brain. Eggs are rich in choline, a nutrient used to make acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter important for memory and focus. Regular intake of eggs may support clearer thinking and better concentration.

Your cholesterol profile can improve: Dr Saurabh Sethi explains that eating eggs for 14 days daily can improve your cholesterol profile. In many people, eggs can actually increase HDL, the good cholesterol, he said in the video. This helps support heart health when eaten in balance.

Your eyes get protective nutrients: "Egg yolks contain lutein and zeaxanthin. These are the antioxidants that help filter high-energy, blue light and support eye health. Eggs also provide sulfur-containing amino acids that help your body produce keratin, which is important for hair, skin and nails," Dr Sethi explains in the video.

What if you don't eat eggs?

Dr Saurabh Sethi says if you are a vegetarian, soy foods i.e. tofu, tempeh, and edamame are the closest plant-based protein equivalent to eggs and can be added in daily diet.

Eggs can be a simple and nutrient-rich addition to your diet. When eaten as part of a balanced routine, they may support brain function, heart health and overall wellness.

What do eggs contain?

Eggs are packed with 13 different vitamins and minerals. They contain choline, a nutrient that contributes to healthy brain development, among other things. They are also rich in iodine, iron, quality protein, omega-3 fat, and vitamins A, D, E, and B12. When eaten as a high-protein breakfast, they can boost a child’s satiety levels and reduce hunger too.

According to experts, each egg contains over 6 grams of protein, making it an excellent option. For toddlers, one egg provides nearly half of their recommended daily protein intake, while for older children, it covers almost a third of their daily requirement.
