Viral video shows hundreds of Amazon parcels being thrown out of train carelessly

Have you ever wondered why your online delivery parcel sometimes come twisted or squeezed or even damaged? This viral video can clear some of your doubts. A video has gone viral on social media in which porters can been tossing hundreds of online delivery parcels out of a train on a railway station.

In this viral video, workers can be seen throwing the parcels carelessly across the railway platform out of the train. Some parcels even seen hit a ceiling fan at the station. According to a Twitter user, who shared the video, the video was shot on March 24th, 2022 at the Guwahati Railway station and the train was New Delhi Dibrugarh Rajdhani Express (12424).

The footage has garnered nearly 3 million views on Twitter.



While the twitter user claimed that the parcels belong to Amazon and Flipkart, but a majority of parcels seen in the video had Amazon's markings.

Following the outrage by many users who blamed the Indian Railways for mishandling the packages, the Northeast Frontier Railway, through its official Twitter handle, has clarified that the Indian Railways is not responsible for handling of parcels.

“This is an old video from March 2022. Rajdhani Express at Guwahati Station. The persons handling parcels are representatives of the concerned party. Railways offer booking of parcel space on a contract basis to various parties.” Northeast Frontier Railway clarified in a tweet.


In another tweet, the railways said that it is the responsibility of the private party to load and unload the parcels and not of the railways.


Accepting the mishandling, Amazon has also issued a statement saying that corrective action has been taken. "As a customer centric company, we take great care in the safe delivery of all our customer packages. This video came to our attention in March 2022 and corrective actions have been taken," Amazon said.
