The International Cricket Council (ICC) unveiled a video on their official Instagram account, shedding light on the South African players' love for a particular Indian dish – butter chicken.



Heinrich Klaasen, one of the South African cricket team members, expressed his enthusiasm for this classic Indian dish, stating, "It's always butter chicken." He went on to reveal that they even have a group dedicated to their shared love for butter chicken. David Miller, in a lighthearted manner, described it as a cliché and humorously suggested that the South African cricket team should consider sponsorship from a butter chicken company, given the universal affection for this dish among the team members. Lungi Ngidi candidly admitted to indulging in butter chicken on the very first night of their stay in India.

Tabraiz Shamsi, a player of Indian origin, offered insights into the team's penchant for butter chicken. He explained that many of the team members are less familiar with other Indian dishes, so they tend to stick with what they know best. Shamsi went on to suggest the possibility of conducting a taste test to introduce the team to other local cuisines. He said, "I think we need to have a taste test for them. Just have a little spread out and get the boys accustomed to some of the other local cuisines."
