Shayani or Ashadhi Ekadashi 2024
Devshayani Ekadashi or Ashadhi Ekadashi, a significant day for Hindu devotees, is observed on the 11th day of Shukla Paksha in the month of Ashadha. This year, it falls on July 17, 2024. The Ekadashi Tithi begins on July 16 at 8:33 PM and ends on July 17 at 9:02 PM. The Parana time, when the fast is broken, is on July 18 from 5:17 AM to 7:56 AM. The Dwadashi end moment is at 8:44 PM on July 18.

Shayani Ekadashi or Ashadhi Ekadashi: Significance

Devshayani Ekadashi holds immense religious and spiritual importance among Hindus. Devotees of Lord Vishnu and Lord Krishna observe a strict fast on this day, breaking it the next day on Dwadashi Tithi. Observing the Ekadashi Vrat is believed to help attain Moksha, or salvation, relieve all types of sufferings, and absolve past sins. Devotees also believe it ensures a place in Vaikuntha Dham, the abode of Shri Hari.

Shayani Ekadashi: Shubh Muhurat for Prana

Paran is done after sunrise on the next day of the fast. According to astrologers, Parana should be done before Dwadashi Tithi. Therefore, on 18th July, i.e. Guru Pradosh Vrat Tithi, after sunrise, you can break the fast between 05:35 am to 08:20 am. During this time, take a bath and meditate and worship Lord Vishnu. After this, break the fast after donating food and money to Brahmins.
