Employee highlights reduced notice period
The employee noted that the manager was under no obligation to shield him from extra work, especially because he was being released after serving a 37-day notice period despite being contractually required to complete 90 days.He added that the manager could have easily overloaded him with work before his departure but instead chose to support him. The employee described himself as fortunate to experience such treatment, particularly within an Indian organisation.
Social media users offer mixed perspectives
The post triggered a range of reactions from social media users, with many praising the manager’s approach while others offered alternate interpretations. One user commented, “God’s favourite child, it seems.”
Another user suggested the manager’s decision may have been driven by operational considerations rather than goodwill. The comment stated that the manager likely wanted to avoid any last-minute dependency on an outgoing employee and ensure a detailed handover process. The user added that handling post-launch issues through an existing employee may have appeared less risky from a management perspective.
A third user said workplace relationships are often shaped by mutual respect and effort, writing that the employee may also deserve credit for the positive equation shared with the manager.
