'Har halaat mein zinda hain': Pakistan has now its own 'Cockroach' parties as CJP goes viral in India
Satirical "Cockroach" parties have emerged on Pakistani social media, mirroring a trend that began in India. Inspired by the "Cockroach Janta Party," Pakistani groups like the Cockroach Awami Party and Cockroach Awami League are positioning themse...

The original Cockroach Janta Party began in India in mid-May. This followed remarks by Chief Justice of India Surya Kant, who referred to some unemployed youth involved in activism as "cockroaches" and "parasites." The Chief Justice later clarified his comments were not meant for all unemployed youth.
Abhijeet Dipke, a US-based public relations graduate and former associate of the Aam Aadmi Party, started the Cockroach Janta Party on May 16. The group used a Google form for membership. Within days, its Instagram account gained over 15 million followers, surpassing the official accounts of major Indian political parties. The party presented itself as a voice for "lazy and unemployed" youth, addressing issues such as education, healthcare, employment, and examination reforms.
The Cockroach Janta Party's X account was temporarily withheld in India but later reappeared under a different handle.
Following the group's online success in India, similar pages started appearing in Pakistan. One Instagram page, the Cockroach Awami Party, stated its bio as: “Yeah copied but who cares. Motto is same”. This account uses green and white branding and aims to be "the real voice of every Gen-Z" in Pakistan. It positions itself as an alternative to established political parties.
Several similar accounts have also emerged on X. One page described itself with the line: “Jinhein system ne cockroach samjha, hum unhi awaam ki awaaz hain.” Another page, claiming to represent the Cockroach Awami League, used the slogan: “Har halaat mein zinda hain.”
