LinkedIn user Chetan Vashistth shared that he was buying a bell priced at Rs 898 when he noticed a promotional offer promising a Rs 100 cashback on purchases worth at least Rs 899. To meet the minimum order value, he added a Rs 5 Perk chocolate to his cart.
However, after the order was placed, the e-commerce platform cancelled the bell because it was no longer available in the warehouse. Instead of cancelling the entire order, the system processed and dispatched the remaining item, the Rs 5 chocolate.
Delivery agents amused by the order
According to Vashistth, two delivery executives arrived at his doorstep on a motorcycle around 10 minutes later. He said they were smiling as they delivered the chocolate and told him they had travelled just to deliver a single Rs 5 snack.Vashistth responded in good humour, joking that they could have eaten the chocolate themselves if they had informed him beforehand.

The incident drew widespread attention online, with several users sharing similar experiences involving online shopping and grocery delivery platforms.One commenter recalled placing an order where the main dessert item was cancelled, leaving only a few lemons that had been added to qualify for free delivery.
Another user noted that many shopping platforms provide options for unavailable products, including cancelling the entire order, replacing the item or delivering the remaining products.
