Dairy giant Amul has once again captured public attention with a topical ad that humorously references a now-viral moment from a recent Coldplay concert in Boston.

The ad comments on the incident involving Andy Byron, former CEO of the AI firm Astronomer, and the company’s Chief People Officer Kristin Cabot, who were caught by the arena’s “kiss cam” in an awkward embrace - allegedly an affair.

In the cartoon shared on Amul’s social media accounts, the brand’s iconic Amul Girl watches the startled couple on a giant screen.

The tagline reads, “Hum Tum Ek Camera Mein Bandh Ho!”—a pun on the classic Bollywood song “Hum Tum Ek Kamre Mein Band Ho”, cleverly swapping “kamra” (room) with “camera.”

As always, Amul rounds it off with a witty signoff: “Only scoops, no oops!”

Viral moment at Coldplay concert draws scrutiny

The now-infamous video from the Coldplay concert shows Byron and Cabot embracing, only to quickly pull apart and obscure their faces once they realise they are being broadcast live.

The awkward moment prompted Coldplay’s lead singer Chris Martin to quip, “Either they’re having an affair, or they’re just very shy,” further fuelling public speculation.

Though both executives are married, the video has led to widespread assumptions of a workplace affair.

The clip rapidly spread across platforms, triggering debates about professional conduct, personal privacy, and the power of viral media in influencing reputations.

Fallout: CEO resigns, probe initiated

The fallout was swift. Within days of the video going viral, Astronomer announced that both Byron and Cabot had been placed on leave, pending a formal investigation.

Less than 24 hours later, Byron resigned from his role as CEO.

In an official statement, the company confirmed: “Andy Byron has tendered his resignation, and the Board of Directors has accepted. The Board will begin a search for our next Chief Executive as Cofounder and Chief Product Officer Pete DeJoy continues to serve as interim CEO.”

The company indicated that further details would be shared “as appropriate,” while social media continues to dissect the incident.
