From a corporate career in Delhi to a fresh start in Goa
In a video documenting her move, Sahu showed herself travelling to Goa with several suitcases, marking her departure from her corporate life in Delhi. After completing her MBA and working for four and a half years, she decided to step away from her established career and explore a different path.According to her LinkedIn profile, Sahu has worked as an HR professional at companies including Info Edge India Ltd and Cognizant.
The video also showed her luggage being transported across the railway platform. She claimed that a porter was moving her suitcases from one side of the platform to another by crossing the railway tracks. The video also captured people taking photographs with a train, reflecting Goa’s appeal as a travel destination.
‘I really hope this place becomes a place I can call home’
For Sahu, the move to Goa is about more than leaving behind a corporate job or relocating to a popular holiday destination. She hopes to find a place where she can feel at home, meet like-minded people and work towards discovering what she wants from life.Speaking about her expectations, she acknowledged that finding a sense of belonging could take time.
“I really hope that, you know, this place becomes a place which I can call home. I find my people here. Until that happens, I'm going to keep searching. I'm going to keep looking in every corner of the world,” she said.
Her account reflects the uncertainty that can accompany major life changes, particularly when someone leaves a familiar professional environment without a clearly defined next step.
Financial worries and uncertainty after quitting her job
In another Instagram video, Sahu opened up about the anxiety she experienced on her first Monday without having to go to the office. While leaving her job has given her the opportunity to explore a different way of living, it has also raised concerns about financial security and how long she can manage without a regular salary.“There’s an unsaid pressure that I have to do well, and there’s a certain amount of money in my bank account which I know will not last for long. My attention span has gone for a toss. I'm not able to watch anything without picking up my phone and looking at Instagram, scrolling and looking at the number of followers,” she said.
Her experience highlights the tension between wanting to pursue a more fulfilling life and dealing with the practical realities of stepping away from a stable career. The transition has also left her adjusting to a new routine without the familiar structure of office life.
