CISF constable Kulwinder Kaur allegedly slapped MP Kangana Ranaut

On June 6, CISF constable Kulwinder Kaur allegedly slapped MP Kangana Ranaut in the security hold area of Chandigarh airport. Kaur was immediately suspended, and an internal inquiry was launched. A case of assault was registered against her at the Airport Police Station.

Kaur allegedly attacked Ranaut due to her statements on farmers during the protest against the now-scrapped farm laws. Following the incident, Kaur was transferred to a reserve battalion in Bengaluru.

“She (Kangana) made a statement that the farmers were sitting in protest for Rs 100. Will she go and sit there? My mother was sitting there and protesting when she made this statement,” CISF constable, who was on duty at the Chandigarh Airport for the past two-and-a-half years, told to television channels after the incident.

In a video message, Kangana Ranaut confirmed she was hit by the constable and made a controversial statement regarding Punjab’s law and order. This statement was condemned by major political parties in the state.

“I was hit on the face, abused. I am safe but concerned about terrorism in Punjab,” Ranaut had said in a video uploaded on her X handle with the caption, “Shocking rise in terror and violence in Punjab”.
