Chef Sanjeev Kapoor posts photos of Air India meals, writes “Cold Chicken Tikka…”

Sanjeev Kapoor, a celebrity chef, on Monday slammed Air India for its in-flight meal. The chef took to Twitter to complain about the food he was served on a flight from Nagpur to Mumbai.

The chef claimed he was served “cold chicken tikka” with watermelon and cucumber, a sandwich with insignificant filling, and a dessert that was essentially “sugar syrup”.

He tweeted pictures of the meal, writing, “Wakeup @airindiain. Nagpur-Mumbai 0740 flight. Watermelon, cucumber, tomato, and sev with cold chicken tikka, Sandwich with a tiny filling of chopped cabbage and mayo, sugar syrup sponge painted with sweetened cream and yellow glaze. Really!” In a subsequent tweet, he questioned, “Is this what Indians eat for breakfast?”




Meanwhile, the tweet enraged many Twitter users, who criticized the Tata Group-owned airline for serving subpar meals on flights.

A user responded to the post, writing, “That is very brave! You are getting cold food with strange combinations! Hopefully, the Tata group will investigate and make improvements”.

A woman complained last month that she found a piece of stone in a meal that was served to her. Another Twitter user shared two photos of her meal, one of which included a small piece of stone that she discovered in her meal on Air India Flight 215.

Air India, was returned to its founders in January of last year, nearly seven decades after it was nationalised and after suffering years in debt. After completing the Rs. 18,000 crore deal, Tata Group regained control of Air India.
