There are various types of tea, and countless ways to prepare it—some traditional, some innovative, and others outright outrageous. The list of peculiar and bewildering chai recipes is already extensive, featuring concoctions like butter chai, fruit chai, and even Roohafza Chai. Now, a new chai recipe has been added to this eclectic collection.

An X (previously Twitter) user recently shared a peculiar chai recipe on Twitter. The video showcases a lady roasting tea dust with sugar, adding cardamom and water, then incorporating milk and allowing it to boil. The lady claims that this method allows for a dhaba-style tea with minimal effort and has become her favorite.

In response to the shared recipe, Twitter user Monica Jasuja expressed her disapproval, stating, "I strongly condemn this new way to make chai. Should we file a petition in SC to stop this nonsense?"

The post has since gone viral on social media, eliciting humorous responses from netizens. Check out the video here:

"That is not tea. That is some horrid Chai Tea Tikka Masala Gravy concoction," commented one user.

"By the time your petition gets heard, there will be another 44 mutant strains. I suspect a few will involve Amul Butter and Cadbury’s," quipped another.

Someone humorously dubbed it "Chai-subzi."

An X user wondered, "Why would someone play around with a simple process of making tea is beyond me."

Yet another person cautioned, "Make it, drink it. But don't you dare call it chai!"

However a person who tried the recipe shared their experience, stating, "I tried after watching this video, the Patti gives a bhuna hua flavor, works once but not for every time."

"Tried once. Thoda different taste aata hai, itna bura bhi nahi hai," said another.

Earlier this year, an Ahmedabad seller gained viral attention on social media for creating Rasgullah Chai!
