Apple iPhone 16 for Rs 27,000! Reddit user reveals how he got this insane deal with HDFC credit card

Apple recently launched the iPhone 16 series, starting at Rs 79,900. The iPhone 16 models are available on both Flipkart and Amazon - both of which are offering various exchange and credit/debit card deals. However, one Reddit user shocked everyone by claiming he scored the iPhone 16 for only Rs 27,000.

In a now-viral post, the Reddit user revealed that he purchased the 256GB variant of the iPhone 16 for Rs 26,970. He explained that he covered the remaining balance using his credit card reward points. He even shared a screenshot of the transaction, showing he applied his points to pay the remaining Rs 62,930.

For those who may not know, Apple’s latest iPhone 16 series consists of four models: iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max. The base model, featuring 128GB of storage, is priced at Rs 79,900, while the 256GB variant costs Rs 89,900.

The Redditor indicated he used an HDFC Infinia credit card for the purchase. In his post, he expressed gratitude for the reward points, stating, “Thanks to the reward points, I now regret using this card for some of my larger expenses.”

When another user inquired about his regret regarding the iPhone 16 purchase, he responded, “I used an Amazon Pay card for jewelry purchases just for 1% cashback, thinking Infinia wouldn’t give any points on jewelry, but it actually does.” Another user asked, “Approximately how much did you spend to accumulate 62,930 points?” The user replied, “About 15 lakh.”

A third user commented, “I have 50,000 Regalia points, but I can’t find the option to use them for the iPhone 13.” A fourth user chimed in, “This makes me realize how little I know about credit cards; I was so naive to think they were scams.”
