Amarnath Yatra 2026 Registation Process and State-wise Bank List
Registration for the Amarnath Yatra 2026 will open on April 15 and will be available both online and offline. Pilgrims can register through the official website of the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board or at over 550 designated bank branches across the country, including State Bank of India, Punjab National Bank, ICICI Bank, Yes Bank, and Axis Bank.Check Amarnath yatra 2026 state wise bank list in the pdf below;
Bookings will follow a first-come, first-served basis with daily quotas for each route. Pilgrims are advised to register early as slots for a particular date will close seven days in advance.

Amarnath Yatra: Health and eligibility rules
Given the high altitude and difficult terrain, strict health guidelines have been introduced. Only individuals between 13 and 70 years of age are eligible. Women with pregnancy more than 6 weeks wil not be eligible for yatra registration. All pilgrims must submit a Compulsory Health Certificate (CHC) issued after April 8, 2026, from authorised doctors or medical institutions. The certificate will be verified before the final yatra permit is issued.Once registered, devotees will receive a system-generated Yatra Permit mentioning the date, chosen route, and entry gate timing. In a new safety measure, every pilgrim will also be issued an RFID card for real-time tracking during the journey.

Two main routes to the Amarnath cave
Pilgrims can choose between two trekking routes:- Pahalgam Route: Approximately 48 km long, this is the longer but more gradual route and is considered safer for first-time pilgrims.
- Baltal Route: Only 14 km long, this shorter route is steeper and more physically demanding, usually preferred by experienced trekkers.

The Shrine Board has announced several upgrades for this year, including better electricity and lighting along the Baltal route, improved trekking paths, and a pre-paid booking system for ponies, palkis, and porters.
