‘Words don’t feed hungry children’: UN Chief urges for immediate action in Gaza to stem starvation

United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres addressing the Amnesty International Global Assembly on Friday, called for immediate action in Gaza to stem starvation. Guterres reiterated his condemnation of the October 7th attacks by Hamas, but said that “nothing can justify the explosion of death and destruction since.” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and U.S. President Donald Trump appeared on Friday to abandon Gaza ceasefire negotiations with Hamas, both saying it had become clear that the Palestinian militants did not want a deal.
