'Trump violated law…': Court rules Nat’l Guard move in California ‘illegal’ | Immigration Crackdown
A federal judge has ruled that US President Donald Trump acted unlawfully when he deployed the National Guard in California during his immigration crackdown. Judge Charles Breyer said that Trump violated the 150-year-old Posse Comitatus Act, which restricts the military’s role in domestic law enforcement. Governor Gavin Newsom had strongly opposed the move, calling it an 'abuse of power' and a 'violation of state rights.'
