HYDERABAD: Palestine is ready to establish a progressive relationship with Israel if it agrees to peacefully co-exist with Jerusalem as the capital of Palestine, Palestinian Ambassador to India Adli Shaban Hasan Sadeq said today.

"Israel must end its criminal warfare. Palestine is ready to establish a progressive relationship with Israel if it agrees for peaceful coexistence with Jerusalem as the capital of Palestine," he said in a statement issued here by the Indo-Arab League Hyderabad at a press conference here.

He and League of Arab States Mission In-Charge Mazim Al-Masoudi sought Prime Minister Narendra Modi's intervention to take up the issue with US President Barack Obama during his scheduled visit to America, the release quoted him as saying.

Mazin Al-Masoudi asked the Indian government to take a "good position" on the Palestinian cause, while "lauding efforts of Indian politicians who favourably took up the issue of Palestine in the Parliament of India", the release said.
