Calls to Optimum's customer service were affected as well, with average wait times reaching 35 minutes. Some customers were on hold for more than an hour without resolving their issues. The outage prompted widespread frustration among users.
At 9:45 pm, Optimum's official support account, @OptimumHelp, addressed the situation on X (formerly Twitter): "We are aware of an outage causing a loss of all services. Efforts are underway to restore services, but an estimated time of repair isn't available yet. We appreciate your patience as we work to resolve this issue as quickly as possible."
Users were left asking, Why is my optimum internet not working
Many customers took to social media to voice their dissatisfaction. One user tweeted, "My TV and internet are out, and you’re telling me it’s a 45-minute hold AND the call center is closing. How about you fix my stuff?"Optimum continues to work on restoring full service to the affected areas, although an official estimated time for the complete resolution was not provided.
Provding a latest update on the internet outage, Optimum said that the services have been restored.
'We are aware of the outage that caused a loss of all services. At this time the issue is resolved and service should be working again. Please reach out if you have any continuing service issues. We appreciate your patience as this was worked on!' it said in its statement on X.
